Mar. 19, 2020 -- Quarantine

(Mom note: today, one year to the day Abe opened his mission call, we received a call from Abe -- with a terrible connection in which we could make out none of what he said -- followed by this brief email.)

Hello hello!

Sorry for the bad connection. We got permission to call today because we got put in quarantine! On Tuesday they put us in a partial quarantine and said that we can leave the house for lunch and dinner and 3 family home evenings a week. The rest of the day we were trying to lessons on the phone. They sent us a big list from the mission department of suggestions for missionaries in the house, but it was kind of funny because almost everything was like, "do family history," "share the gospel on facebook," "watch videos on the gospel library app," etc. So we are trying to still work, but it is very boring just being able to do calls. Yesterday I was inspired by cousin Devin when he told me that on his 20th birthday on the mission he did 1000 pushups, so yesterday between calls all day I would do sets of pushups and finally hit 1000 in one day. So anyways. A little crazy. But, oh yeah, so now as of last night, we are in complete quarantine and can't leave period. We just have today to go buy some more food and do this call, and then we're stuck. So anyways. I think we'll still be able to write on Monday, but we'll see. Love you guys lots. All safe and well. Just a little bored. I bought a bag of puffy cheetos, but they are almost out. That will be sad. Here, cheetos puffs are like the size of a crunchy cheeto, but still puffy. Smaller and redder. Interesting. Elder Redford (MTC roommate) said in an email that being trapped inside all day makes them really snacky. I realized it is exactly true and it is like being at the cabin. We just want to eat lots of snacks. I have two Sister Nicol's candy bars. As the zone leaders said, "All is well in zion! We're just in a code red." Haha.

Love you!

Abe
